  Just after the Autumn Equinox,scenes of harvest abound across China.With the refreshing autumn breeze,people embark on their autumn journeys by admiring the season's beauty,picking seasonal fruits,and savoring their flavors.When autumn meets intellectual property(IP),tourists can enjoy a wide array of food,beverages,and leisure experiences.This autumn,let's explore six unique IP-themed activities and use a Plog to capture the abundant landscapes.

  Tasting kiwi fruit

  Recently,a national kiwi expo opened in Meixian County,Baoji City of Shaanxi,sharing the delicious taste of the Geographical Indication(GI)product Meixian Kiwifruit with the world.Nestled on the northern slopes of the Qinling Mountains,Meixian is recognized both domestically and internationally as one of the best areas for kiwi cultivation.Its kiwis are well-shaped,juicy,sweet-tart,and highly nutritious.To further advance the GI industry,Meixian is working to establish a national demonstration zone for the protection of GI product,forming an integrated industry chain covering production,storage,processing,and sales.Today,the brand value of "Meixian Kiwi" has reached over 16 billion yuan,with its products sold in overseas markets.

  Savoring lake crabs

  At Junshan Lake in Jinxian County,Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province,420,000 mu of lake crabs have entered their peak harvest season.As a product granted GI protection,Junshan Lake Crab is prized from claw to roe.Its model of "natural rearing with human management" and eco-friendly techniques has led to crabs known for their large size,tender meat,and rich golden roe.To further develop the specialty aquaculture industry,Jinxian County has implemented unified management,established a 300-mu Yangtze River mitten crab breeding base,and a 320,000-mu organic crab farming base,and engaged over 4,350 households.This effort has helped Junshan Lake crabs 'crawl' their way to prosperity.

  Drinking pear juice

  Around the Autumn Equinox,pear juice and pear soup,known for soothing the lungs and easing dryness,are popular on dining tables.Jinzhou Pear,a national GI product renowned for its crisp bite and residue-free sweetness,has thus gained consumer favor.Jinzhou City in Hebei has taken the construction of a national demonstration zone for the protection of GI product as a key driver and has integrated pear growing with tourism,culture,and processing.These efforts have promoted the inclusion of Jinzhou Pear in the China-EU agreement on cooperation and protection of GIs,and the BRIPC promotion program for GIs,while advancing standardized production and industry upgrading.Currently,the city's pear orchards cover 125,000 mu,with products exported to 51 countries and regions,making Jinzhou Pear a celebrated brand worldwide.

  Brewing astragalus tea

  In autumn,searches for astragalus tea have surged online due to dry climate.Grown in the heart of the Loess Plateau,Zizhou Astragalus boasts a long cultivation history.Its semi-wild farming methods give it high medicinal and nutritional value.Transitioning from raw herb to processed products,this product is now developed into astragalus teas,cosmetics,and other high-value items sold worldwide.In recent years,Zizhou County in Yulin City,Shaanxi,has upgraded the entire industrial chain to build a GI brand,making the astragalus industry a pillar for boosting agricultural efficiency and increasing farmers'incomes.

  Admiring ginkgo forests

  As the weather cools,ginkgo forests in Pizhou City,Jiangsu,have turned a brilliant golden yellow,attracting crowds of visitors eager to capture autumn memories.As a product granted GI protection,Pizhou Ginkgo is valuable for its leaves,nuts,seedlings,and towering trees.To maximize the value of ginkgo,the city has pursued full-chain development,forming three specialty sectors:ginkgo health products,ginkgo-based snacks,and ginkgo biopharmaceuticals.Annual output of processed ginkgo products has reached approximately 2 billion yuan.Meanwhile,the city has advanced a ginkgo-themed tourism strategy,enhancing the brand recognition of Pizhou Ginkgo.With 500,000 mu of ginkgo groves yielding 8,000 tons of nuts annually,Pizhou has achieved integrated development of its primary,secondary,and tertiary industries.

  Breathing in osmanthus fragrance

  In golden autumn,the streets and alleys of Pucheng County,Nanping City of Fujian,are filled with the delicate fragrance of osmanthus blossoms.With over 2,000 years of cultivation history,generations of Pucheng residents have planted,admired,and enjoyed osmanthus in tea,wine,and cakes.In 2010,Pucheng Osmanthus was granted GI protection.In recent years,the county has promoted an industry development model featuring government guidance,market leadership,farmers as main actors,association support,and county-university cooperation.With over 40,000 mu of osmanthus trees benefiting more than 100,000 farmers,the osmanthus industry has shown distinctive growth.Once hidden in quiet valleys,Pucheng Osmanthus has now become a renowned brand known far and wide.(Eyes on studio:Xue Peiwen/Tian Yihui/Guo Siyuan)
